Sheriff came out looking for my ex and he was at his mom's across the alley. (Thats who called them they shoulda been over there) He still insisted on coming in my house then pulled a gun out in my kitchen like he was going to shoot my dogs. My dogs were in the back yard! These people are unprofessional and extremely lacking when dealing with mentally disturbed people. Cops should not have guns.

I think the biggest problem I have with the video is that I don't understand why the officer wanted the young man's ID? What good would that have done? Leaving race aside, it seemed like an abuse of power that a high school teacher would use against a student who did not comply with their orders. That's the most disturbing matter. Of course order is important, people should obey laws, people should respect you officers, but you cannot lose your compassion as people when you are wearing your uniform. Sure, maybe he wasn't supposed to be riding his bike there on the sidewalk for whatever reason, but it did not need to escalate to that point either just so you could maintain authority. Giving some compassion to that young man, staying calm, giving a legitimate reason as to why you needed his ID, and letting him go may have created mutual respect instead of this chaos. Asking for his ID without explanation when he is on a bike, not even a car, seems a little obtrusive in matters of freedom and privacy. Which is why compassion in minor situations like this is important, and when you are demanding compliance there has to be a reason why other than, "uhhh." It just seems like the woman officer demanding the ID had no real reason other than pride to keep demanding it which makes this kind of authority hard to respect. The excessive force of the second officer was also disturbing since no explanation had been given to what was going on and should have been the last resort. This whole situation was very poorly handled by people whom we are supposed to trust. The only reason I'm going to give two stars is because I have faith in the morality of the police, but this does not mean I will not question it. Even if the man was going to leave, it resembled to me an act that a high schooler would pull in order to get away from a teacher who was letting their position get ahead of them

N Martinez and J Gonzalez are a disgrace to not only your police force, but the streets they swore to protect. when a black man gets arrested for riding his bike on the side walk you know you have a problem. Condoning torture, and police brutality to a man already in cuffs sitting on the ground.. that man was a danger to no one. i don't even want to think about what those thugs did to the people recording it. Any officer that was there and allowed such disgusting behavior should be held accountable too, you are public servants, to protect and serve. Who did they protect there? Who were they serving? No one.
